Difference between Egg Donation and Surrogacy

You have tried really hard to create a family and now you are extremely overwhelmed and emotionally bankrupt. You, along with your partner have spent endless amount of energy and money in your longing to start a family. However, tests, time and tears haven’t produced any result and now you are wondering what to do next? Should you give up on your dream to have a baby or opt for any other procedure such as egg donation or surrogacy? Before selecting any of the two, it is vital for you to know the difference between them.

Choosing an egg donor:

If your physician reports that you need an egg donor, you may mourn about losing the genetic link to your child. However, you may choose to focus on the joy of raising a child regardless of their physical characteristics. The child will be your family’s treasure and add happiness in your world. One of the biggest decisions here would be whether you want to choose an anonymous donor or someone known. Once the decision is taken, you can then consult an egg donation agency and begin the process.

Choosing a surrogate:

Surrogacy is the way of carrying a child for potential parents. The child may be their genetically, or the egg and sperm may be obtained from the donors.  A lot of agencies online offer surrogate matching, and determining whether the agency you are choosing is authentic is the major step. Search the web, look for users’ rating and make a sound decision.
